I first met Mona over a decade ago, when I auditioned for her dance crew. It was the scariest thing I’d ever done and I was a nervous wreck that day. There were so many people—all the more talented than I was. But Mona spoke to me and encouraged me to give it my all no matter what. That day, she took me under her wing as my coach. I’d been a dancer for many years before I met her, but she took me to a whole other level. Mona’s coaching style not only meant my dancing got better, but my approach to training and overall health lifestyle and desire to want more for myself, drastically improved. She was always someone who showed up, no matter her own circumstances. When she said she was going to something, she always did it, and some. Everyone who had the privilege the learn from her, knew that. Mona taught me how to persevere, and fight for myself. Every time I’d doubted myself, or wanted to give up, she reminded me that I needed to do better. Sometimes with just her own actions. I’ve had plenty other coach-figures in my life, but Mona took it personally. Even to this day, I know that I can still reach out and she may not have the exact answer, but her guidance and teachings are so strongly rooted that she’ll have something to remind me to push myself and go after the things I desire. I’ve never met a more intuitive, strong-willed, or knowledgeable person. I will always look up to Mona, as a coach and as a dear friend. Anyone who is lucky enough to be taken under her umbrella of teaching would find themselves thriving in an array of aspects in their own lives. Serious results because she is a serious coach. For me personally, it’s been in dance, writing my novels (soon to be published!), writing poetry and short stories, online and in-person marketing of myself and my arts, and in just being an overall healthier/stronger person. She is a multifaceted problem-solver and an unstoppable force; a full on go-getter. A truly rare breed of human all-together. I’m so thankful for Mona’s many talents that I have been blessed to learn from and be a part of. Thank you Mona Lee Ray!!
